IDEA & ORIGINAL PITCH

We first started thinking about this project right before Christmas Holidays in 2016.  When we started brainstorming concepts we knew we wanted to use as less characters as possible, and not having dialogue if we could.

My friends and I used to hang out after class, trying to come up with cool concepts for our shortfilm. After discarding many crazy different ones, one day in the university I came up with an idea that seemed interesting. What If a ghost scares so much someone, that he actually kills the guy, and suddenly that guy also becomes a ghost? It felt weird, funny , and a cool twist, and that was the starting point of the amazing journey that has been doing this shortfilm.

We liked the idea of trying to contrast our characters as much as possible, so we would have «Grumpy «, an old solitary ghost, and «the Young Fella», an optimistic and energetic young man that enters the ghost house after getting lost in a nearby forest . At first we set the story in a castle, and then switched it to a mansion. To the right you can see the slides of the pitch presentation we made to the university in order to get the green light to start developing the project.

Int that pitched we suggested that Grumpy would try desperately to find any solution to get rid of the young fella ghost, eventually calling even the Ghostbusters! But when the Ghostbusters showed up in the end , our characters would have had plenty of time to interact, and besides some funny fights and discussions, they would have also started learning from each other, and becoming friends. So in the end the old Grumpy ghost would save his friend from the Ghostbusters and scare them far far away!
