. But I was also lucky enough to be collaborate in the development of a pitch for an original idea that the studio had. I’m really passionate about creative challenges, so I really enjoyed the freedom that we were given to come up with ideas, gags and situations… That was also the key moment where I was introduced  and discovered fully the meaning and importance of storyboard.

The pitch that we did worked really well and the project was sold to SKYDANCE. I stayed doing storyboards and exploring the world mechanics for that project until February, when I joined SPA Studios, to join “Klaus” storyboard department as an intern.

I had loved “Klaus” since I watched the first teaser, so it was a dream to be able to be a part of that project, under the guidance of the amazing Edgar Martins, Head of Story of the movie. I was attending university at the same time and started to develope a shortfilm called “The Grumpy Ghost” with some of my friends.

After graduating I  worked on “The Grumpy Ghost” during the summer, and that was also a super awesome experience. I really enjoyed the role of the director and being able to work in a personal project with friends. We would go every day to a class in the university, work hard and laugh a lot. When summer was over, I recieved a call from Ilion, asking me If I would be interested in joining a “New Ideas Department” that they were just starting. It sounded amazing, so I accepted, and I worked there for a year. (One of my colleagues in that department was Juan Pablo Lopez, one of my favorite teachers from university) During that time I was able to do both character design and storyboards.
In that period I also attended  a few workshops in La Galeria Roja, one from Bil Schwabb on character design, and another from Lorelay Bove on gouache and painting.

Afterwards I joined Skydance feature SPELLBOUND, a fantasy musical directed by Vicky Jenson, and I’ve been working in that project as a story artist for more than a year now.

I know that I’m in the beginning of my journey in this medium, but I consider myself a hardworking person that is willing to give his best and loves the idea of growing, learning, and  working in valueable and beautiful stories.
